Hi Guys and Girls,

More structured e-mail than usual, flit between what interests you and what doesn't.

Christmas Meal 2009

The HUGS Christmas meal this year is pencilled in as the Friday of Week 11, which conveniently is Friday the 11th, at Ray's Place on Princes Avenue.  This is our traditonal home for the Christmas meal.  It's an Indian restraunt, but the menu does cater for those who aren't massive Indian fans.  It doesn't have a liquor licence, so you bring your own booze.  Which can be anything you want, as little or much as you like.  And more importantly, they don't mind us getting loud and rowdy.  Prices vary depending on what you order.  What I need to know is, who's coming, so I can confirm the booking.  The time may vary, depending on the table availability given our unconfirmed numbers.  So I need you ALL TO REPLY ASAP, so we can get this booked.  Thank You.

AU Tour

You have until Friday 4th December to sign up to the best week of the Year.  Even if you're not active on our socials or our races yet, you have four months to join in, and trust me on this, Tour is worth every penny.  Plus, if we don't know you that well even once you've signed up, it'll take the bus ride for you to be integrated and drunk.

No Race On Wednesday, Chill out Social and Accessory Social Instead

Given the recent high cost races, and £14 outlay for Shirts that 24 of you ordered (2nd batch will be available after the X-mas break for those of you who missed out), we have decided that there will be no race this week, given that the cheapest available track would set each of you back £25 of the Her Majesty's finest pounds, instead we'll be hitting the Gardeners Arms on Cottingham Road to get slowly drunk on a cold winter's afternoon, before Heading off to get showered and ready for Asylum.  Our theme for Asylum this week is fairly simple.  Acquire for yourselves, any and as many novel accessories (that are cheap and you don't mind ruining/losing) you can lay your hands on, so we can show up to Asylum and look like the drunk pillocks we actually are.  As usual, chaos will be led by your beloved Social Sec, and punishment shots will be handed out to Mr Sam Jackson and Mr Josh Overhill, for foolishly believing that Tom had left Asylum early last time out (I know, disgusting isn't it).

On A Final Note:

To those of you who went to the Inter-Uni Race last week, kudos to a superb performance, to go to Teeside, noted as 'Fortress York' as far as Inter-Uni goes, to come away with second place, and be within 3 seconds and 4 seconds (A Team and B Team respectively) of the 2 point swing it we needed for a Tie, is sensational.  Given York's stellar reputation around Teeside, their noted experience advantage going into the race, having had their entire team attending at least one race there this semester, take great comfort in the level of panic you guys had instilled in them before the race.

"We said we had a wet weather team...
We prayed for wet weather...
It poured..."

A Direct quote from the York website.

Lots of Love
